How We Review: What the Griffin Roost Checks, and What It Cannot See
A griffin on a roost has a good view and no way into the building. That is a fair picture of this site. JLFF is an independent guide, not a casino. It takes no deposits, runs no games and has no access to any operator's back office. What it can do is read carefully and say what it sees. This page lists the eight criteria used whenever an operator is described on JLFF, and is honest about the view from outside. No scores are given. 21+.
What we look at
| Criterion | Why it matters to a player | Evidence we accept |
|---|---|---|
| Licence disclosure | Tells you who answers for the site | A licensee name that can be found on PAGCOR's published list |
| Payment rails | Determines how money moves and what record you get | Rails named in the cashier, such as GCash, Maya, InstaPay, PESONet |
| Terms clarity | Decides whether a bonus is worth claiming | Wagering, weighting, cashout cap and expiry in figures |
| KYC rules | The commonest cause of a delayed cashout | Document list and timing published in advance |
| Complaint route | Your option when support disagrees | A written procedure with an escalation step |
| Responsible-gaming tools | Lets you set limits before you need them | Self-service limits, time-out, self-exclusion |
| Support channels | Where you turn when something fails | Contact details on the operator's own domain |
| App distribution | A major security exposure | Browser play available; any installer linked only from the operator's domain |
How each is used
Each criterion produces a plain statement, not a mark. "The licensee is named and appears on the regulator's list." "Bonus expiry is not stated." "Support is offered through social media handles only." A reader can check every such sentence in a few minutes, and that is the test we set ourselves: nothing on an operator page should need to be taken on trust.
What we cannot see
- Payout speed, fees, minimums and limits: set by the operator and changeable. Check its cashier page.
- The outcome of any player's withdrawal or complaint.
- Internal controls, game configurations and security practices.
- Whether the domain in front of you is the licensee's.
- Anything requiring an account. JLFF has none and has not deposited, played or withdrawn at any operator.
Public facts about payment rails are the exception, because they do not depend on the operator. InstaPay is real-time with a per-transaction cap. PESONet runs in batches on banking days.
Money
JLFF may earn a commission through partner links when a reader registers with an operator. This is stated openly. Payment does not change wording. A criterion that comes back negative is reported as negative regardless of any commercial arrangement, and no operator can buy a ranking because JLFF publishes none.
No scores
The game pages on this site give published RTP figures because a provider stands behind them. Nobody stands behind a guide's star rating. Until an operator's performance can be measured by something better than anecdote, JLFF will describe and not grade.
Corrections and dates
Pages carry a modification date. Errors reported through the About page are fixed in the text. When an operator publishes something previously missing, the relevant statement is updated.
A word to the reader
These criteria tell you whether an operator is transparent. They do not tell you whether to gamble. That is a separate decision, best made with a fixed budget and a time limit, and the responsible-gaming page has more on both.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JLFF test operators?
No. It reads what they publish and checks it against public sources. It holds no accounts.
Why trust a guide that earns commission?
You should not need to trust it. Each statement is checkable, and commission does not alter wording.
Does JLFF rank or score casinos?
No.
What happens when information is missing?
The page says it is missing. Absence is reported, not papered over.
